Troubleshooting

Self-Empty Base Not Emptying? What to Check

A base that stops emptying is usually a bag, seal, blockage or alignment issue rather than a failed motor. Work through these checks in order.

Quick answer

Check the bag is not full and is seated properly, clean the filter and the inlet seal, clear any blockage in the dust path, and confirm the robot docks squarely. Then run a test empty cycle.

1. Bag and seat

An overfull bag, or one seated slightly off, is the most common cause. Replace it if in doubt and confirm it clicks into place; see self-empty base setup.

2. Filter and seal

A clogged base filter weakens suction, and debris on the inlet seal lets air leak. Clean both; see cleaning the base.

3. Blockages

Check the robot's bin outlet and the base's intake for lodged hair or debris, with the base unplugged.

4. Docking alignment

The robot must dock squarely against the inlet. A bumped dock, a soft or uneven floor, or an obstruction can stop alignment. See dock placement.

5. Cycle rules

Many bases empty only after a clean, not after every dock, and may skip a light bin. That is normal. Check your app for settings that control when it empties.

When it is a fault

If the bag, filter, seal and dock are all fine and the base still will not empty, or shows an error, see error codes and contact the manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions

Does it empty every time it docks?

Not necessarily. Many bases empty after a clean and may skip a light bin.

Why does it beep and stop?

Often a full bag, missing filter or blocked path. Check the app or manual for the code.

Can I still use the robot without emptying?

Yes, by emptying the bin manually, but do not run it with a full bin.
